Nether Contamination is a prison deck that wins over time and often after establishing the namesake lockout. Nether Contamination has always been playing a resources game, both with hand rip but also mana denial and card draw. Dark Ritual is trading resources for speed in a deck that wants to win the resources game. It just doesn't make sense here.
