And yes, McCandlish is very interesting. When I heard that he shot himself, I was immediately suspicious but after reading the description of the condition of his house (trash and animal shit everywhere) it became clear he had reached the common conclusion of a severely depressive state and just killed himself - plus he was pretty old by that point.
