The whole invasion thing really should have been more fantastical. Have Lex create some super soldiers for Boravia (throw in some obscure villains) or give the soldiers laser guns and mechsuits. Something interesting for Superman and the Justice Gang to fight instead of just steamrolling them. Maybe have Lex funding BOTH sides of the conflict to escalate it. Instead it was just tanks and soldiers against literal peasants.
