Here is what you do OP
cut the top off so it makes a funnel and flip it upside down and put it back in the hole
Use a hole punch around the edges for wire or zip ties
throw a hunk of chicken and a rock in that fucker
zip tie it shut so it looks more or less like pic related
Huck it in the river near the bank somewhere
Do 6 or 7 of them all tied to the same line for efficiency
Eat as many crawfish as you can catch or use them to catch bass.
