All I'm saying is that justification was weak, since this whole discussion started with how Axeman has been letting Twilight's spytism dictate his character too much lately on things that were seemingly settled before. This instance is not radically different from the other ones, and Axeman's avoidance in showing Twilight's real feelings wherever possible hurts his case for saying that it is here.
And it's beyond the Nightfall example, like how Twilight went full glowie and had to be reminded not to see Anya as a tool for the mission in the winter festival chapters even though he's been mindful of it since the early chapters and story arcs. Axeman writing Twilight like this whether to delay the inevitable or to make a funny gag is partly why he has trouble conveying it the way he wants to. And the older chapters do matter for this because they also inform the readers' view of him and can work against what he's trying to write now.
