I didn't have time to ask what he meant by this, but, he said that people in the 90s and 2000s thought video games were going to change the world. They had hearings in congress based on the fear that video games would turn kids into killers.

I don't know how to describe it, but as an '04 zoomer, video games have always been for kids and young adults. It's never been a serious artform. Maybe when I was little.

Was he just bullshitting or did people think video games would play a bigger role in society? Why didn't they take the next step?
