I liked that Shinji went through a period of finally realizing that him doing nothing was actually just as bad as fighting. I liked that he finally got a conviction at the very very end even if it was too late. I liked that Ren finally had something to do other than say Yui and Eri and fight (I'm generalizing but you know most of the time he's just saying peoples names)
This kinda keeps the trend of there not really being a big final battle too. Kuugas is MOSTLY offscreen, Aigtos was against a dude sleeping, and Faiz while after this.... was also against a dude sleeping though I guess its the first one that does have a full on climatic battle that's actually fully on screen. Every single final fight in Ryuki is not handled in the Rider battle. Shinji dies to a monster, Odin disintegrates cause Kanzaki gives up, Kitaoka dies peacefully in his house, and Asakura is shot to death. It's left vauge but we're to believe Ren also died on the floor in the hospital. I'm sure there's a deeper meaning to that then what I can gather right now but it was pretty grim.
I'm not sure how I feel about the time reversal stuff, it was already established earlier it could be possible and my limited understanding is the 13th Rider special is a previous possible timeline? I dunno.
This is a weird series that I feel like as time passes I will remember the stuff I liked way more than the stuff I didn't like and I'll come to really like it later as opposed to right now. Also I really liked this HBV cause it was very stupid.
