It is funny how the NFA creates weird definitions. For example, this thing. The Mossberg Shockwave. At first glance, you'd think it's illegal. Short barrel shotguns, that is, shotguns with a barrel shorter than 18" are definitely illegal. But it doesn't have a stock, so it's not a SBS. Smooth bore cartridge pistols are illegal, so ot must be a smooth bore pistol and therefore illegal. Well, no, because it doesn't have a pistol grip, just that weird little nob that isn't stock and isn't a pistol grip, and therefore doesn't make this thing a pistol or a short barrel shotgun. Tha only NFA definition this thing meets is "firearm," which is absolutely perfectly legal.
