I hate to break it to you, but Muira probably didn't know what he was doing either.

The manga progression was full of fillers with new shonen-like opponent appearing, most of the secondary characters were completely ignored. Only reappearing to show off Griffith city.
We still had no fucking idea what he was going to do with the five super mega boss-like character he created, nor the idea of evil.

He drew pretty pic, added little girl and boy naked (when he didn't make a new manga just for that).
The only thing good Muira did was finally bringing back Casca, which should have happened a decade ago.
