Focused on trying out the action design. Tested Hanyouyou and Genchiyo.
Hanyouyou gives a very intuitive feel, agile and elegant like a flying swallow, plus she has Chun-Li’s classic move, the inverted propeller flying kick.
As for Genchiyo’s feel, describing it as GBF Relink’s Milk Knife isn’t enough. I’d go as far as to praise it with the Qiankun Blade, the best weapon feel I’ve experienced in any game—impactful, stylish, cool, and elegant all at once.
You ask about the female protagonist? Did you see those blue-and-white “bowls” occasionally flashing during combat and the tight black stockings? No more needs to be said.
Also, when finishing Genchiyo’s combo, that rabbit furry we saw in earlier reveals showed up, the ice-attribute one. Maybe it’s a shikigami or a possessing spirit?
The Tab key works like the Eagle Vision from Red Dead Redemption 2 or Tomb Raider, highlighting collectible items and key objects. Sprinting and dodging both use Shift. Attacks build up meter, precise dodges give a big chunk, and with three bars, you press R for a big move. For monsters (I fought two bosses from a quest), the boss attack cues and dodge windows are pretty generous. Precise dodges trigger bullet time and brief invincibility, showing that the design clearly encourages precise operations.
