Which is questionable, as many people in the threads stated to have various troubles at several parts of the game, notoriously when entering a new area (granted, playing on the highest difficulty). Especially notorious was Bastoria with its werefox spam and bear frontlines, giving many players (including me) all manners of trouble and often requiring deliberate restructuring of various squads. So, I really want to see all your ten squads that you just put together randomly based on your affection to various characters and how they just completely stomped every and all challenges in the game.

That's fucking retarded, it only gets too easy when you use specifically the same stomp-everything tools everyone used. The maximum joy of squad-building is using all these other fun, sometimes wonky, something suboptimal, tools to get creative and make less strong units and compositions shine.
This is an rpg-strategy game. Do fun stuff.

Yes, the game is overall too easy, but it's still one of my favorite games of all times for various other reasons, and I simply can't understand what else is supposedly so much better that is similar to UO.
I played Symphony of War and it's not better (still enjoyed it immensely).
You just seem to judge it purely on the difficulty. Why? That's not all there is to video gaming.
