i always find it funny that Warner wanted their first sound film to be special so in The Jazz Singer the very first synchronised line of dialogue is for some Jewish ceremony and its a special and momentous moment in cinema when in actuality it was A Plantation Act that beat it out by a month with some minstrel shukin' and jivin about being a good ol nigga. They cant even say Don Juan was first because it used sound effects not dialogue. Thank you Al Jonson for being the buried first film that no one wants to talk about
