Obligate herbivory is basically a myth. Cows will eat snakes, manatees will eat dead fish, pandas round out their diet with a bit of meat and fish, damn near everything will eat eggs if they can find it, and deer make forensics a pain in the ass by eating human corpses and chewing on their bones. Being an herbivore is kind of a massive pain in the ass and meat is loaded with tons of nutrients that you just can't get from plants.
