I never implied you can't do all of the above. It's just that the reason given for it is just really really weak. I actually really like the shield, but if I find myself in a situation that not having it meant getting killed then it's 100% skill issue.

Gunner "waves" are never a problem because they come from the same direction, dipshit. The game has a funny mechanic that when you engage gunners in melee they shit themselves and stop shooting. The only exception being shotgunners that sometimes strafe backwards, but I honestly rarely see it happen, especially in big groups. The real danger of gunners in my experience is not when 20 of them pop out of a door, but rather when they come from 2 different directions in massive numbers, which in Hav is a guaranteed.

"Just sliding" doesn't do shit unless you're in pissing distance, I'm not that fucking crazy. I'm just used to not having a shield long before the Beetus update and have already had to adapt without it. So I think it's fucking weird to bring a less than optimal weapon for every other scenario than this one that you should already be able to solve without it.
