When Cartoonist Kayfabe looked at the Todd McFarlane/Gary Groth interview from TCJ, Ed pointed out how Groth and the Fantagraphics crowd all come from a higher social strata than a guy like McFarlane, who was living in a trailer park. A lot of those indie guys who publish through places like Fantagraphics and able to go a long time with minimal work and live comfortably are trust fund kids or have family money keeping them afloat.
As much hate as the Image guys got, they were all coming from near poverty in some cases.
