Sure, but the discussions around it are divided from the quality of the design itself, and any designers making future outfits that is being creative I would think, would reasonably consider what these people say but disregard them insofar as creative persuits go rather than acting "in response to them" to "get at them" with whatever design they would make. I mean, that's how any creator should go about it I think, humility.

These things also have to be considered in context. Of course the MK9 design is going to be compared, it illustrates a significant change, they way I see it, (and give me your thoughts if you dissagree) it shouldn't even be looked at in the framework of "which one is the most sexy and how do we avoid that". I'm not even against a more modest design per-se, it's just the way they go about dealing with designing these characters. I reject the premise that a sexy design is "pornography". I'm open too hearing a differing view though. Once again, I'm not opposed to modesty.
