Looks kinda gay af and the Johnny Cage angle I'm skeptical of but it looks like it might be interesting. Mortal Kombat has always been kinda cheasy so whatever. SOme of the scenes shown look kinda cool. Shao Kahn looks like he's portayed in a cool, and otherworldly way, which is fitting.
>>715727280Yeah. The only thing decent about it is that she at least just looks outwardly, obviously concerned with nothing but being an assassin, which I guess fits the character. It sort of gives a sense that they were raised under a rock outside of normal life trained just to kill, but that being said, this is probably not done for any story related purpose because when you look at these things insofar as their AFFECT is concerned it just looks like gender erasure, and we know that's rampant in all of big media. I don't really care though, to be honest.
Also, seemingly unpopular opinion, Jade in MK11 sucks. Everything about her character in that game is terrible, her personality, mannerisms, attitude, it all sucks, and I have to suspend my disbeleif looking at her because they made her charicter have this put on toughness, because muh gorl power (and it is that, that's why she has a condescension laced fatality that's a play on her win animation in MK9) that just seems comedic in the face of what the character is, a woman, it comes off as unjustified and simply the opposite of appealing. The outfit too is just kinda dumb, they made it that way as a statement, and when you make these statements in such theatrical fashion, it (for good reason) rubs people the wrong way. It's honestly aids in every facet, and it begs that question who's it for, because we know mandates to do such things come from the top down. I just want MK to be good again, and, ideally, have the people making it not have an aversion women and femininity in the characters design choices, to the point of ironically being something being what they try to avoid being, SEXIST!
