let me share a secret with you
the pass pose is actually the true highest pose and the contact is the true lowest frme
RIchard William's keys are for characters that are carrying significant weight
hence it feels off when applied to armless figures

well done anon

i think the tablet's gonna bottleneck you from getting too crazy with tweening

the secret with deciding the number of drawings is understanding what speed your character is moving at
slow is expensive and fast is cheap
the brain can fill in the gaps from one drastic pose to another as incredibly fast motion
but the anticipation/follow through/secondary action that eats up the frame count budget
watch FLCL if you wanna see the masters at work at a super tight frame budget it's glorious

hey hey now you don't need to put down one thing to elevate another that's a flawed thought process
2-d animation being a feat of expertise is true statement completely independant of whether tweening is easy or not (it ain't you're not giving it enough credit)
the peak of tweening i'd put would be minus8 and i cannot for the life of me imagine anyone achieving that output and art style 2d traditional animation
