It’s a pretty universal complaint of Retsnom that the relationship between the two just stops 2/3rds of the way through and then he just free times it up while thinking ‘things are okay…right?’. Also something interesting is during the scene where we get to talk to the real Darumi and she’s opening up about how she really feels just about every girl I’ve watched play it kept saying he should hug her then. Shame Takumi goes for the physical affection with Tsubasa but not Darumi. I can sort of see why though, they made it clear in other routes whenever Takumi was into someone but never really established if Takumi was also into Darumi romantically. They did thankfully make clear in 2 endings that she fell for him (early bad end and the We Are One end).

I think it's because they both readily help each other. At least until Takumi just leaves her alone for the last ~20 days of Retsnom.
But before then, he's pretty much always trying to talk to her about what's going on, and she's trying to help lift him up (such as when she pushed him to make up with Nozomi and being a bit sad that he's happy with someone else at that moment).
