Sahashi first heard the background music for "ultraman powered" and I thought he was a great composer so I followed him all the way up to the later "super sentai series" with "the big o" we wanted to change the atmosphere from previous robot anime so we asked these two people who are active in special effects works.

I've always loved watching foreign TV dramas from the 60s and 70s on TV so I've always wanted to do music like that but I never really got an offer like that... That's why "the big O" was fun, I wrote the songs to match the work but I really just did whatever I wanted as if it where a hobby.

>konaka: when roger gets on the big O and says "lets go!" the music is full throttle and the audience gets excited in sync. I think it worked well even if they didn't know the overseas dramas we were watching.
