I think this is meant to show that Matoran and Bohrok diverged from the same "ancestor". This would make sense given the "you dared oppose your brothers" line from the Bahrag. Krana are said to be made by putting an "unknown form of energy" into energized protodermis, so the thing in the middle might be that. If that's the case then presumably a different process turns the energy into Matoran. It's hard to find any information that isn't from a Greg asspull though.

That's a Turaga I'm pretty sure, the legs look just like the ones the sets have. This would make sense given that Turaga are essentially the midway point between Matoran and Toa. This also would have been an early hint at Matoran being able to become Toa and Toa becoming Turaga.
All the stuff on the Bohrok side I'm not sure about though. The first thing would logically be a Krana, although it doesn't resemble any existing designs, unlike the other side which clearly has a Hau. I guess it's possible this graphic was made before any Krana were designed. I don't think the next thing is supposed to be a Bohrok Va since it doesn't really look like one. I'm pretty sure the Va are fully mechanical, since the Krana they carry aren't actually used by them. So it seems they aren't an evolutionarily step and are just made to serve the Bohrok. I think everything on the Bohrok side is just meant to represent hypothetical stages between the "unknown energy" in the middle and the Bohrok. Whether or not they're based on any prototype designs is anyone's guess, but it's at least clear that the design of the Bohrok was pretty much finalized by that point since that's unmistakably the silhouette of the final sets.
