On paper, I can understand the general concept of what they wanted Forked Tower to be. Personally, I'd love more things to be incorporated to try to tap into that old-school MMO feeling.

But there's just so much they fucked up with Forked Tower that it blows my mind that it was ever approved for launch.

The level of entry needs to be tweaked. Sure, you don't need a full set of OC gear or multiple masteries. But a Phantom Job at max level should be required to enter because certain abilities or spells are critical. Then fact that you only need 16 people to enter but need 24 to pass the first boss is a huge oversight. I don't remember if they were trying to fix this or not.

The raise restriction is definitely huge decentivizer, and it's wild to me that there isn't a single safeguard in place for uncontrollable mistakes.

>1 person fucked up and took out 20 people with their mistake?

>Your group wiped completely on a boss?
Doesn't matter how many lives you have, time to leave the fucking Tower because there's no return to entrance option - unless you set up a chemist cheese. You did that, right!?

All they needed to do was add an item you could buy with a lot of silver or gold OR unlocked a passive ability (say at Mastery level 10 or something) that gave you at least 1 free res so you don't get screwed over entirely. Especially when Tower isn't queueable, and there's no guarantee your premade will even make it together. So no promises that you can even do it with your friends!

If they don't learn from these mistakes...Don't give a good story hook in 7.3...And don't address housing situation especially with WoW's changes...It's all over for XIV. Because let's be real, most of the playerbase only cares about the MSQ and their venues.

I'm just bitching about Forked Tower because it's legit fun but a fucking nightmare to get into.
