I've done them myself. (face blurred because she'd kill me if I posted an unedited pic, even though she's cute irl). Not sure if I've ever run into somebody else doing one outside of a con though, if I did I'd chat with them and show them some of my stuff if it seemed appropriate (wouldn't barge in while they're actively shooting) or just smile and keep going.
