CFL started up again and makes me wonder why Americans even bother with spring leagues.
The CFL *is* the mythical spring league all these random venture capitalists wish they could create, a developmental league for the NFL with reasonable attendance & merch sales, natural rivalries, and a good but not great TV deal.
You could place a 10th team in Kelowna and an 11th team in Halifax, and turn a modest profit that expands the league to feature two more teams worth of NFL prospects - which is all you realistically need. The UFL doesn't have eight great quarterbacks. It has maybe three - convenient enough for two CFL expansion teams.
One CFL game pulls the same crowd as 3 UFL games combined. Tonight's opener had 26,000 in Saskatchewan.
You have to add the DC, San Antonio, and Memphis game together, to get one CFL game.
The currency conversion also means that as an american business owner, funding one of these teams ends up being cheaper than anticipated.
