Also, the thing with heavily expressive art is you're better off studying western fine artists than eastern artists which is a lot less straight forward. Western artists pre 1960 to me have a lot more appeal than both modern Western and Eastern artists because of how expressive they are. even an artist who wasn't particularly expressive in his subject matter, like Alphonse mucha, was capable of conveying so much expression in a simple face.
