"Nothing was explained" and "power progression was skipped" are not the same thing though. The main character drinks his first potion in episode 2 and is still stuck on his level 1 potion by episode 6. As for the fog he literally always had access to it. It's no different from Naruto starting out his series with the demon fox in his belly. The focus is not on how he got it but on how he's gonna use it and how that + transmigration make the MC different from the rest. You really need to stop acting like stuff like this is a departure from classic anime/donghua storytelling practices, the mere idea is laughable.
I mean, the show has a lot of shortcomings but "skipping power progression" is not one of them, sorry to say.
