16 bit CD was a brief but glorious window of time for gaming. Unlimited storage for assets, vastly improved music, beautiful pixel art, especially in cutscenes (PC Engine mostly), the medium peaked with 16 bit CD. Then suddenly, all anybody cared for were ugly chunky wobbly polygons at 320*240 & 15fps. Only downside to 16 bit CD era was Sega pushing grainy FMV. PC Engine dodged that bullet by being a little too weak.
