I think the same. I started the game extremely skeptical, but I finished liking it more than the original. The voice actor who played James did an incredible job conveying the protagonist's feelings. The combat is more engaging, and the sound design and lighting keep you on the edge at all times. The new details, combined with the classic set pieces, improved the experience and added more bittersweetness to the endings.
