This reveal was much better in the manga. The manga had black boarders the entire run up until this point since the entire manga was from the pages of the diary. The borders were witched to a normal white once they got to the present time, the last chapter.

I'll miss this series. The manga was fantastic and the anime did a decent job capturing it. It couldn't capture everything but it did what it could.
