Call me whatever you want but I actually love having to play different characters in action games. It was awesome when Onimusha did it. It was awesome when Devil May Cry did it. It was awesome when Ninja Gaiden did it. It's awesome to get to play as multiple characters.

It keeps the game fresh without having to rely on gimmicks and more often than not it makes the story much more fun. It's cool to get to play as Ayane or Jean Reno or Vergil. It's exciting to get to play the game in a new way. Yeah sometimes some of the characters are less polished but it adds more to the game than it takes from it more often than not.
