I'm not sure. There is just something about it that didn't make me super excited to watch the next episode most of the time. For my favorite seasons, I get happy just seeing the characters, and there might also be something exciting (new attacks, new generals, etc) happening that makes me want to watch just one more episode. The first half of Futari wa has this, but not the rest.
