making Superman weak is not how you make him relatable because the Superman that fight aliens, hauls planets and is friends with Batman isn't relatable, he's a comfort character. the kind you know will fix everything once they enter the scene, like Goku landing on Namek or Saitama facing anyone, Captain America is also such a character.
making Superman getting his ass raped and crying doesn't give me hope he's going to save the day. Clark Kent is the relatable character, his problems and issues are human, he can be as weak as everyone else and belong with them, which is what he always wanted, even in Man of Steel this was clear as day.
