The Dredd comics have multiple depictions of Dredd both in art style and in the type of 'cop' he is. Outside of the 'main' comics (Origins, The Cursed Earth, The Day the Law Died, Judge Death etc) the rest is mostly wacky, out-of-this-world filler with little basis in reality and little narrative drive beyond the occasional multi-issue comic. One example is a filler comic where he had to deal with a 'bum' fashion trend (people having 'flaps' in their pants to show their bums) and he was only able to put an end to it when they did it at the front, where laws already existed to stop that. Depending on the author, he can outright ignore lots of trivial crimes, or be the most jobsworth person imaginable.
