This is how I used to work
>Have to figure out how to rewrite a spaghetti code library of high dimensional linear algebra because an idiot wrote a matrix inversion in it somewhere when you never need to actually invert a matrix and can easily approximate
>Get interrupted to attend a worthless meeting
>Go back to rewriting the library but asked to clear the code review queue because noone else can for some reason
>Go back to rewriting the library but told some account manager needs me to talk to some customer about adding a feature
>Get asked nonstop questions from other developers over email and spend rest of day helping them
>Run out of time, end up spending most of my weekend rewriting the library
>Nobody cares I did this, received same bonus as everyone else I hand hold everyday

I changed my hours so now I show up 3-4 hours before anyone arrives and most of my critical work is finished by then because no interruptions. Now I'm the guy in those videos who's like 'oh time for a post lunch break' and just replies to emails all day or reviews code
