Imagine the entire scenario of Shadow’s backstory if told through a horror lens.

Everything about his story is the same. ARK, Maria, Gerald, Black Arms, all of that, but put some of that in a new context.

>Maria’s illness, instead of just being some non-descript disease, is given more weight and is a much more serious threat to her health. We see her well being deteriorating. Hallucinations, fainting, nausea, etc
>When Gerald creates “Shadow” it’s just an amalgamation of flesh, bones, and blood. It has no feelings, no heart, it just… lives
>Maria knows the creature is the only chance for her to be cured, so she has to put up with it begrudgingly
>She has to imagine this… thing as something more pleasant. Like a cute animal. She has to keep telling herself these lies just to be around the very thing that may keep her alive
>In the meantime, Gerald has gone crazy even before G.U.N. has shown up. He’s created life. He’s playing God, and the creation he made is his own devil

I know this may sound edgy just for the sake of being edgy. But I find it interesting.
