I remember in the 00s most online vidya spaces would mock you for talking about Call of Duty or Gears of War positively, /v/ was especially critical to mainstream garbage

Meanwhile in the last ~10 years there's been very little pushback to anything really, new COD equivalent series, predatory game design, rehashes it's just accepted as a part of life by everyone
