Anon I actually do agree a little that AC6 should have had some more inertial movement but I also think the older games aren't the end-all be-all for this. We clearly see the mechs changing directions quickly via boosts even in the gens before 4, and the bunny hopping as mentioned earlier as well as the QBing of 4 and the walljumps of 5 all are indicative of fast and responsive machines.

I do think some more things to indicate scale would be nice, such as blowing up tanks and humans wearing exo suits (stomping on civilians like Brigador) but the argument that shit controls = accurate gameplay makes little sense.
Things like hardlock and quickturns aren't the issue, it's more that these new additions were added without as much consideration for the ways assault boosting and ricochet functioned, nor do they take into account leg differences, so it exacerbates the issues already present.

The bunny hopping was a cool mechanic, I thought it was neat. But yeah it's clear that Fromsoft originally made the games with what they had at the time: 4 and FA are very clearly an evolution of the games as are V and Verdict Day, and those games have much easier control schemes. 6 can be seen as an attempt to have the scale of the oldgen's gameplay but with newer gen controls, so while the mech fights are much like oldgen in regards to range and aesthetic, the actual gameplay is more like 4 and 5 with QBs and boosting. The closest thing to "rabbit mechs" is elevator builds, but then we're discussing multiplayer balance and I could write a whole post on my grievances with it and how the people who put in the time to S rank with it are rather obnoxious.
