The reality of this game is that it was entirely carried by the world building efforts of ARR-HW, and now that all of the resources from those efforts have been expended, there's nothing left in the game world of worth or note since nothing was built up to replace them. And since they chose to deliberately close off and torch all the remaining plot lines that were left, they can't even retreat back from the abyss they've pitched themselves into. The story in this game will never recover, as a result.
