Lego Loyalty is honestly very comfy affirmation that people, in general, are "good"
we all know it's not-cool that other companies are blatantly ripping-off Lego blocks. we "KNOW" it. deep in our souls. if other people can steal those ideas from Lego, what are they going to steal from YOU? ugh! nobody wants to support that.
it's got nothing to do with supporting Lego as a company. it's the idea that the other companies are getting away with something awful. (of course this is debate-able, which is why they get away with it in the first place)
I would love to see a competitor, using exact Lego brick designs, squish the heck out of Lego. Using simply better-designed, more creative sets. unique new themes, a few amazing new pieces (better than Lego?!) in order to, at least, force Lego to be more humble. Lego is currently in a downward spiral of invincibility with multiple-hundred-dollar sets and that needs to stop.
