I'm pretty sure people call it the hot waitress index. The idea is that during economic hardship, men don't spend as much on whores. Since whores don't have any skills other than looking attractive, they need to work minimum wage jobs to keep afloat. So, the more attractive women you see in low wage jobs, the worse the economy is doing
