The Ramayana was also an epic poem, later transformed by Hindu Clergy into pseudo-scripture. They literally added a prequel and a sequel to it, to fit into the cosmological narrative that they wanted.
Rama is supposed to be the ideal man so they took that template and turned himv into a god which he never was in the original.
I have my own spiritual way of life so all that dogma and stuff is irrelevant to me.
