This is Shahada. It is the Islamic declaration of faith. Reciting this makes you a Muslim, and then you must establish Salat, the daily prayers.

Here is a guide to praying Salat. It takes time and effort to learn and memorize the entire process and requires discipline to keep five daily prayers at fixed times.

Salat means your entire life revolves around prayer and this gives you inner peace and keeps you accountable to God to avoid Haram (sins) that ruin your life.

Sawm (fasting) is only mandatory for Ramadan, and Zakat (charity) is also once a year and is 2.5% of your wealth to a charity of your choice. You are not obligated to donate to a mosque, but you can.

There is also Sunnah fasting and charity, voluntary, both are good deeds. Hajj is a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimmage to Makkah and not everyone makes it, but we are obligated to try.
