It could have been comfy if it were just me in the van getting on with it but the majority of the loops had 2 people assigned so it was me with another lad every day and I'm a big autistic freak so with each passing day this other lad grew to think I was weirder and weirder as I sat there quietly, freakishly.
Also there was quiet a boisterous, laddish culture in the sorting office, not great for an unassertive autismoid like myself. I found it quite overwhelming to be honest and felt like I didn't really know what I was doing. Problem being that if you don't bundle up all your shit perfectly in the sorting office then when you're out on the street it's a fucking nightmare if letters you've tied up with plastic bands don't perfectly match the layout of the streets. In theory the frames in the sorting office are meant to solve this problem but in practice each route has loads of tiny nuances to be learned.
It's dead easy to get the job though so if you fancy it it's worth a shot. The interview was literally me turning up and the guy was like "OK, here's your starting date", no questions asked. I think they have quite a high turnover. Also you need to be fit but you'll grow into it if you're not that fit.
