as the OP i should respond to the obvious answer and often the basis for most revolutions.
perhaps your right when food feels scarce in some way. but i also feel with the progression of society, and with the greater insight and clarity of which we can perceive those in power behavior, that our standards would increase in kinds.
but maybe that's wrong, or at least can't be presumed quite so much.

i agree with this as well. at least violent revolutions tend to put in charge violent and/or oppressive people.
though the willingness to revolt should still exist. and the degree of pacification and level of distraction has somewhat eliminated the fear of violence the government should have of it's people.
and so i wonder, just what it would take for that fear to be realized or at least confronted as a possibility
