Graphics pipelines should have stopped at the Wii (SSDs and RAM can stay modern). It was the perfect intersection of developer flexibility and fast, efficient development without falling victim to the HD bloat that killed the entire AA space and numerous handheld studios. If devs targeted this level of hardware today we would be getting masterpieces yearly and a constant influx of high quality middleware.
