One of the things that surprised me most about the series is that Kunzite genuinely liked Zoisite. I was 100% expecting him to be the typical manipulative asshole who was just playing with Zoisite to get what he wanted, but that wasn't the case at all. He's even shown mourning him while looking at a photograph they took together. Aside from Jadeite, the show does a decent job of humanizing them and giving them some dimension.
