That's even more dogshit writing now that we know not only no touch CoC exists and he could have AOE'd the fuck out of Aokiji there to the point of no dodging, but he has the fucking quake fruit to add world destroying AOE attacks as well to his weapon. Whitebeard is probably the worst person in the series to try that split your body apart bullshit on when he has a massive weapon with huge area of effect damage surrounding it.

Obviously Oda didn't have haki countering logias thought out very well at this point or plan any of the haki shit. Marinefold was a massive mistake.
