Race always will be a bigger fault line for society than class. Race is the biggest fault line there is, and one that cracks and splits nations apart. Even the Russian Revolution had the flavor of a race war, with the ethnic minorities from the periphery becoming reds that terrorized the Russian majority. Many Russians from that time seen the Revolution, and the later Chekist abuses, through that lens.
