As for the Germanics in Rome, back before the modern era there were good and bad sides to both tribal and settled farming ways of life. Tribals and nomads typically regarded themselves as superior to settled farmers, and well above sickly city dwellers. It's only really in the 1700s this started to change and the tribals and nomadic way of life began to disappear globally.

The point is that racism has never been consistently defined, and the shifting definition is a sign it's an ideologically loaded term. It's very similar to the use of "false consciousness" in the Eastern bloc. When the Cold War ended, all those communist loaded terms just basically disappeared from the lexicon.

We should be very careful about the rapid proliferation of new ideological words. The fact that we've been able to comment on racial issues for thousands of years without the term shows it's not needed.

You can speak of racial hate, racial love, racial consciousness, racial interests, racial superiority, etc. But I don't think you can just speak of a generic "racism".

At least in my line of work I noticed there is a lot of bias and nepotism by caribbean and indians, a lot of program directors only hire people from a similar background. My specialty at least was easy to match to.
US doctors get priority when matching so I don't think I'm stealing anyone's job, if anything you should thank me because if I wasn't here there would be an indian working in my place

Pretty much, "Better a negro than an Irishman" was a common phrase in the American South. Blacks didn't usually get put on the worst jobs because them and their descendants were owned for life, they'd put temporary white slaves on the most dangerous tasks.

Whites should feel absolutely zero guilt or remorse over slavery imo. In fact, when pressed on it I even support having a bit of pride.
