in the states yes because apple has such market domination there that everyone who buys an android is basically gonna look like they're doing it as a statement.
whereas in europe it's almost seen as a tasteless flex to own one, I have an iphone and use a mac at work and especially my techbro acquaintances keep making fun of me for it
